Host family

13 juli 2017 - Sliema, Malta

My day has been pretty normal, i'be you'd like an impression of how my day went anyway, read some of my earlier blogs. You'll read some unbelievable things, such as: busses are messed up, white bread is popular here, work is alright and the weather is just like me, bright and hot. (Heh, if only)
Though, one part of my daily routine is to buy a softdrink at the local store when i return from work, to test all kinds of local drinks and to get some change for next day's bus ride (busses only accept change)

Today i'll give you some.more information about the host family.

The house is located at the top of the hill, in front of the AM language school, a place where most of the international students can be found. The building is 5 stories high, with several rooms on each floor, only 2 of them are used for the students. But the entire building is owned by Tony The house is very decorated with all kinds of objects, such as antique relics like official papers and shellcasings, but also lots of art, books and symbolic items. We also have a garden which looks pretty nice, especially one that's built in the middle of a city.
We also have 3 cats, to make sure there aren't any lizards in the area. (This is why you can see a lot of cats in public places)

The owner of the house, Tony Teribile, ain't terrible. Like i said earlier, he is a small old man, but he does everything he can for the well-being of the students. He's always very polite and is always relaxed (which is why we only have boys in the house; ensure he remains this way)
Tony is always up for a chat.
The food is great. Alright i may have been 'complaining' about the white bread, but there's plenty of other stuff to eat for breakfast. Lately i just took some cereals. We even get lunchbags with us, even though Tony doesn't have to. For now this was my lunch as well, but i've heard that i can order some nice meals at the restaurant for for free, because i am an employee. So i'll definitely take advantage of that tomorrow!
The dinner is always different, but it always consists out of fries with something else, such as an entire hanburger, some kind of deepfried tosti or some chickennuggets. we can have dinner whenever we want to, whether it's 17:00 or 20:00, Tony doesn't mind. Because we can warm up our dinner ourseves and eat, together with whoever happens to be there at the same time. So far i've always eaten together with Simon and Romain, which is always fun.
Tony also always asks us if we would like some icecream as dessert, given the fact that it's 35+ degrees, one does not simply say no to such an offer.
We can also always take as much water, milk, orange juice or cola to drink, which is awesome, because i'll really need a lot of liquids with this weather.
I'll try to add some foto's of the house tomorrow.

This was a brief description of my host family, if you would like to know some more, feel free to ask me.

I'll try to write again tomorow,

Wouter
