Tired, delayed, relaxed.

11 juli 2017 - Sliema, Malta

Today was my second day at work.

I couldn't sleep very well last night, maybe it's because of the heat, that causes you to be covered in sweat when two of your limbs touch for more that 3 seconds. Or maybe because of the two extremely loud and incredibly close fans next to you (i know, horrible pun), trying to give us the illusion that it's not that hot after all. But it's probably because of both reasons...

I woke up, went downstairs, got myself some more cereals and i drank quite a lot of milk, water and orange juice, to at least get me through the morning. I packed my bag and arrived at the busstop down the hill at about 8:30. There are about 5 different bus lines who were going towards the waterpark, all of them should appear at the busstop every 30 minutes. So ofcourse i had to wait 40 minutes for a bus...

It's 9:30, i finally arrived at work. I noticed that there were a few new employees working in the reception area, and as luck would have it, not a single man, so i prelared myself for yet another long and tiring day.

The two new colleagues:
Lucy: another slovakian, she turned out to be nearly 20 years old, but i know firstgraders who look older than her... She's quite talkative, which made work slightly more tollerable. It was quite amusing when she appeared to have some troubles regarding my name, because she thought that it should be written like 'Voltaire'. After confirming that she is indeed sober, i explained to her that i am not a french renaissance writer and that my name is just Wouter, she neber forgot it since.
Nicole: maltese girl, slightly more intelligent than her predecessor (Mereille) and about 18 years old and not very social.
Finally, _____ (typical italian name), she's a out 16 years old and helped us in the morning with the tickets, she dissappeared shortly after.

There weren't many visitors today, which made work pretty relaxed, there were next to 0 visitors in the shop, so i was able to help with a few other tasks: selling tickets and putting on wristbands. It was fun, because this way i got to interact a lot more with the visitors, showing off my language skills by talking to them.in their native language. I also had plenty of time to get to know my colleagues a bit better and to chat with some friends back home, all in all, a succesful day at work.

Luckily i managed to return home with the bus without any delay. I spent the rest of my day in my appartement, relaxing, because i was still tired from last night. I started to make some plans for future activities, such as playing soccer, lazergaming, boat tours, clubbing and relaxing at the beach. So i've got a lot to look forward to.

It's 11:20, and i'll no go to bed, i'll try to write a bit more tomorrow, as there are still quite a few topics which i haven't discussed yet. Amd i still have to add some new pictures.

"Ciao"
